Call the Rock Line

Last night we signed up a new cell phone service... should be much cheaper since we harnessed the power of our marital status to get a shared family plan. With the new service came a new phone... it's neat. I spent some time last night downloading ringers.

Here's what I got... They say you can tell alot about a man by the way his phone rings:

-The Pixies "Where Is My Mind"
-Led Zepplin "Immigrant Song"
-Flock of Seagulls - "I Ran"
-The Buffy the Vampire Slayer Theme

So what does this say about me?

That you're a phone geek :)

Flock of Seaguls - Love that one ... and can never hear it now without thinking of THTV :)

Sadly we have no Trigger Happy TV here in the States. I have heard it spoken of only in legend...

I am but a novice phone geek. But I did manage to set mine so that when Jill calls, it plays "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."

dude - i'm afraid the judgement of phone geek is the only one to make on folks with tailored ring-a-dings - not that it's a bad thing... :)

however, props to your choices - the Immigrant Song rocks of course (tho now i can only think of kittens in viking gear when i hear it - a la http://www.oddwebsite.com/viking_kittens/

as does the Slayer theme (tho i find it sorta pathetic that it's literally one of the best punkrawk songs i've heard in the past few years & it's a gdam tv theme!)

don't know about the Flock o' Hairdos, but i'll give ya the benefit of the doubt - & the Pixies... ok, they do rock, but only cuz of the transcendent Ms. Deal

there's my 2cents - kudos on yr new career in blogation!

ciao, mk

p.s. the best ring-a-ding i've heard lately was one that mimicked the old jangly ringer on one of those old rotary-dial phones - one went off in the store yesterday & you could lierally see everyone's mind slip back in time...

I love that old fashioned ringer! Can't find it anywere though...

er.. umm... is there anyway of editing these things? i just looked again & clicked on the viking kittens link & it goes to some fuckedup 404 page with weirdass porno on it

which is NOT what i meant to link to...
i think the problem lies in the fact that the end parentheses has been included in the link, which then ends up with a 404, instead of at the super cool viking kittens singing the Immigrant Song

Dave, can you fix this? please?

Posted by: jam at December 17, 2003 09:14 PM

Okay Matthew!
I fixed the link. Kittens are now fully operational and ready to rock out!
